Locted right off of University Parkway, this medium peice of land doesn't go that far back from the road, but rather runs parallel along the roadside. The ground is perfectly flat, but there are random peices of debris strewn just under the layer of thick crabgrass. It was an old strip mall that was torn down, and now a variety of wildflowers and grasses grow within the premises. The soil here is highly fertile, and grows grass and hay with ease. The water is also drawn from the city reserve, but the power lines and phone lines must be above ground. There are no trees, but there is a small duck pond in the back left corner. There is still an old parking lot there, just the right size for 2 trailers and a truck. Using the space effectively will be tough, but it should be worth it.

Located in between Powderhouse Rd, Audobon Rd, and Two Notch Road, this larger peice of land is a large, bumpy, rather bleak place. The dense city is nearby, and the farm is confined on all sides by heavily traveled roads. The upside is that the square of land is larger than most, and the tack/feed shop is nearby. The soil here is rather infertile for growing, but the water is straight from the city reserve, and it's always in plenty and sparkling clean. Also, the power, telephone, and water lines are all avaliable to be built underground, thus having more space and less risk during a storm. Hauling is easy, as the driveway is 1/4 mile long and paved. Choice of training tracks: Gatewood Memorial Park, Trailwood 2-mile, and Cherokee Raceway.

No New Posts Half-Moon Acres

Located just off the Hitchcock Parkway, this scenic location is a small clearing amidst dense woods riddled with trails and old logging roads. The clearing has a 2 acre lake in it. The ground is flat, but hard. Grass grows well here, but beware: poisonous vines and berries from the forrest beyond could poison a horse if ingested. This area is protected from the wind, but a heavy storm could bring down trees, not to mention the fragile power and telephone lines that run along the 2 mile driveway through the woods.
