Red Hott Tamale responded well to the time of breaking from the gate, but his position boxed him in on the rail for a few furlongs, stressing him and making him more tired. You were lucky the distance was only 7 Furlongs, as he was dragging his feet from trying to escape from his box and catch the leaders. Hence, 2 Furlongs was not enough time to catch up, and he didn't take your moves seriously until a crop was flicked past his face and he used the last of his energy to lunge into forth to finish. 7 Furlongs or longer may have been ok, but you need to help your horse out and keep him out of that pack and that box. He responded well to the racing dee, but tried to make his own moves also.
